Official Australia passport photo rules (quick view)
- Size: 35–40 mm wide × 45–50 mm high (common preset 35 × 45 mm)
- Head height: 32–36 mm from chin to crown, with a little clear space above the head
- Eyes: open, looking straight ahead
- Background: white or light grey — no patterns, no shadows
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed
- Glasses: not permitted (since 1 July 2018), unless medical exemption with declaration
- Hats: not allowed (religious/medical exceptions only; face must stay fully visible)
- Taken within the last 6 months; clear and unedited — no retouching, smoothing or filters
