Official UK passport photo rules (quick view)
- No fixed mm size — the official system crops automatically; do not crop yourself
- File: at least 600 × 750 px, 50 KB–10 MB, colour, clear and in focus
- Background: plain light-coloured with clear contrast, no shadows
- Expression: plain expression, mouth closed, eyes open and visible
- Glasses: avoid unless you must; no sunglasses/tinted lenses; eyes fully visible without glare
- Hats: not allowed (religious/medical exceptions only)
- Taken within the last month; unaltered by computer software; no red-eye; no other people or objects
